7:00 p.m.    Meeting called to order by:     Supervisor Terry Acton
        Pledge of Allegiance:              Respected and said by all in attendance
        Roll call of officers:         Terry Acton, Maye Rood, Lee Dancer, John Scherrer,
                          Absent:  Nancy Austin

Public Comments:
A.     Jim Gelios:  Was not in attendance.
B.     Officer Pat Bolander:  Did not have exact totals on runs for September, but was a very busy month with property checks and arrests.  Suggested all residents attend the Neighborhood Watch Meetings.
C.    Harrison Soccer League:  New board was introduced and will meet with them at the next workshop on November 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
D.    Public: Corrections to the September 16, 2014 board minutes.

Consent Agenda Section:  Moved by Terry Acton to approve, 2nd by John Scherrer.  All in favor. M/C

Department Reports: Rod Williams, Calls are starting to drop, so he has reduced his hours per week, will increase back in the spring.  Blight is getting better, but still needs a lot of work.

Unfinished Business:   Goudreau Associates presented the recommendation to the board of JBS Construction with a bid of 2,235,600.00 for the new building, with alternates 5 accepted, 2,3,4, & 7 not accepted and 1 and 6 was abeyanced. Terry Acton motioned to accept bid, was 2nd by Maye Rood.  Roll call vote was taken.  Lee Dancer: yes, Maye Rood: yes, Terry Acton: yes, John Scherrer: no.  MC

New Business:  Discussion on changing work week from Tuesday Friday to Monday Friday.  Terry Acton made motion to change to Monday Friday work week effective November 1, 2014. Maye Rood 2nd.  Lee Dance, Maye Rood & Terry Acton; yes and John Scherrer; no.  MC

Board Request:   90 day probationary raise for office assistant Deb Hoyt, from 10.75 to 11.25.  Terry Acton motioned to give raise, 2nd by Maye Rood.  All yes.  MC
Terry Acton suggested we get signs for driveway to route traffic for construction and a new Hayes Township Municipal Complex Sign that will be out at Clare Ave. by the VFW.  Terry Acton made motioned to acquire the signs, was 2nd by Maye Rood.  All yes; MC
Terry Acton suggested we acquire a new ramp as the old one is not worth re-using.  We need to rotate it towards the other drive-way for the construction traffic.  Suggested we get a metal as opposed to wood.  Terry Acton made motion to accept, 2nd by Maye Rood.  All yes, MC.

Public Comments:  Terry Acton ask the public for their input on raises for the Supervisor, Clerk & Treasurer.  Betty Laskowski asked if had salaries from other townships.  Questions were raised on who was running the elections with Nancy on leave.  Maye thanked the Planning Commission on all their hard work this past year.  Stan Lewis suggested that all residents attend the Neighborhood Watch meeting Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 7:00.  Chemical Bank will be in attendance and do a presentation on fraud.
